The Main Parlour is a relaxed gathering space designed for slow mornings with coffee, quiet afternoons with a book, and cozy evenings winding down after a day by the lake.
A Home with a Story - Located at 118 High Street, the Inn was originally built in 1896 by Captain Donald “Dan” McAulay, a mariner whose life and legacy are woven into the fabric of Southampton. The home was once a lively gathering place, hosting social events and celebrations — including meetings of the Sons of Scotland, complete with Highland dancing.
Over the years, the building has lived many lives — as a private home, The Linton Inn & Steakhouse, Chantry House, and now The Southampton Inn. While it has evolved through generations, its welcoming spirit has remained. Today, we proudly carry forward that tradition through the special events and shared experiences we host throughout the year.
